This course builds on the knowledge learnt on the\u00a0RYA Day Skipper Theory course\u00a0and is a prelude to the\u00a0RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Course<\/a>. or\u00a0RYA Yachtmaster\u00a0Coastal<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0RYA Yachtmaster Offshore<\/a>\u00a0exams. \u00a0This course\u00a0concentrates on advanced navigation and meteorology skills and\u00a0is aimed at sailors who are looking to undertake more complex, longer distance passages.<\/p>\n

Along with the course pack your get access to an advanced electronic chart plotter specifically for use on training courses, giving you a realistic insight into electronic navigation which\u00a0is an integral part of the course.<\/p>\n

The course is delivered by Navathome<\/strong>, a RYA Recognised Training Centre specialising in online training.\u00a0\u00a0To get a feel for the course\u00a0click here for a free trial<\/a>. \u00a0You will be supported by our training centre qualified instructors on behalf of Navathome.com. \u00a0To complete the course there are\u00a0two exam papers taken on-line that can be\u00a0invigilated by a suitably qualified person or an RYA instructor if the qualification is to be used commercially, otherwise the papers are done without invigilation.<\/p>\n

The course is made available for a 6 month period. Should you need to extend this for a subsequent 6 month period an administrative fee of $500 will be levied.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Pre-requisites<\/h2>\n

Prior experience and knowledge to the Day Skipper practical and Day Skipper Online Theory level is mandatory<\/strong>. Open to ages 16 and up.<\/p>\n

Course Duration<\/h2>\n

The online theory course takes approximately 60 hours, students progress at their own pace.<\/p>\n

RYA Certification<\/h2>\n

Successful completion of this course will earn you the RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore Theory certificate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
